In-Hospital Care
Scheduled Overnights
Baby Care:
Diapering: Changing diapers as needed to keep the baby comfortable.
Feeding: Preparing and feeding bottles if the baby is formula-fed or pumped breast milk.
Breastfeeding Support: Assisting the mother with breastfeeding, including positioning and latching.
Mother's Support:
Physical Support: Helping the mother with recovery by ensuring she gets adequate rest and addressing her physical needs.
Emotional Support: Providing a compassionate and understanding presence, allowing the mother to share concerns, feelings, and ask questions without judgment.
Minimum two 8 hour overnight shifts
Daytime Support
Let the pressure to do it all subside… It doesn’t have to seem so heavy, and the feeling of being completely outnumbered by tiny baby socks and dirty dishes can start to melt away. Invite North Jersey Doulas to be an extra layer of support during the day. Take a deep breath (maybe even two) and remember, your well-being will be cared for, also! Think of us as your reminder that you don’t have to be a superhero… You get to just be a human being who deserves a bit of rest and a lot of kindness while they figure out this whole parenting thing.
Minimum day shift - 5 hours.
Newborn care classes - 3 hours
Infant feeding/pumping & going back to work classes - 2 hours
Night-Time Support
For new parents, those first few weeks of night shifts can feel like an endless loop of feeding, burping, and trying to convince a tiny human that sleep is, in fact, a thing. Enter New Jersey Doulas. We are there not just to take care of your baby, but to make sure you get the rest you need too. We’re like the guardian angel of your sanity, making sure that your baby is well-cared-for while you catch some much-needed Z’s. With our overnight care, you’ll get the peace of mind you need from knowing that your baby is safe, fed, and comforted while you rest and recover.
Minimum night shift is 10 hours.

Organizing the Nest
Assisting the new mom in various tasks such as preparing meals, making lists, establishing organized bathroom and rolling cart stations for both mom and baby, optimizing space and pathways through the house. Other tasks include organizing and taking care of baby laundry, setting up and stocking up on essential baby products, arranging snack stations for older siblings and mom, as well as setting up a convenient bedside table arrangement, and other related tasks.
